Three video tools you can hand to Claude, and an honest breakdown of what each one is good at, what each one really costs, and which one fits the way you actually work.
Three Very Different Ways to Make a Video
Claude cannot render video. It has no timeline, no codec, and no canvas. What it has is the ability to drive software that does. That distinction is the whole reason this comparison exists, because the three tools people keep naming in the same breath are not competitors in any normal sense. They sit at three different points on the same pipeline.
Here is the short version of how each one works.
Motion, which lives at motion.so and comes from a company called Mosaic, is a hosted service. Claude sends it a brief. Motion does its own research, writes a script, picks a color palette, animates the scenes, records a voiceover, adds music, and sends back an MP4. Claude is the client, not the creator.
